Spirit of the Nation: Canberra's unfolding heart!
For an age of human history, the heart has been used synonymously
with honesty, integrity, truth and love. If you speak from the heart,
we feel it is genuine. If you love from the heart, it is enduring.
If you give from the heart, it is truly a gift and grace. If you
forgive from the heart, misdeeds are forgotten and erased. If you
stand in your heart, you are reliable and have integrity. The heart
expresses the best and highest urges of our being.
Spiritually, the heart is the point at which our deepest, inner
light touches our personal, every day consciousness. The seat of
the soul, the spark of divinity. Physically, the heart does one
thing throughout every moment of our life - it creates the flow
of vitalising nourishment essential to our physical existence. Without
it, there is no life. Without the flow of life force from our inner
heart light, there is no life either - life loses its meaning and
purpose.
Every nation also has its flow of living light, the life force
that energises its civilisation, culture, choices, and opportunities
for the future. The grace and vibrance that colour its every expression
- both within the nation, and to the rest of the world. The heart
and soul that we feel when we visit different places, that makes
us want to visit again - or not, if it we do not feel it!
In a nation, the heart is held by a great angel, known as the national
deva. "Deva" is Sanskrit for "shining one."
Angels, or devas, hold energy foci and bring forth the flow of the
higher light and qualities of spirit. Devas are found everywhere.
The great theosophist and clairvoyant, Geoffrey Hodson, wrote numerous
books showing the devas over forests, mountains, hospitals and cities,
healers and people in need, flowers and plants, and those that appear
with certain music. Devas create, guide and direct the living flow
of light to help fulfil the evolutionary choices of whatever they
enfold. Our personal guardian angel has the same role with us, helping
that divine flow make sense and touch us when we need it most.
The national deva is an enormous and magnificent angel, standing
over the whole nation, flowing the life divine into every creative
thought, into all expressions of our nation; whether political,
educational, spiritual, or personal; whether inspiring great discoveries
in science, unfoldments in art, or the striving for excellence,
truth and integrity in any field of human endeavour.
This nation, Australia, has been prophesied for over 90 years to
have a special role of heart in the world, in this era just now
unfolding: the Age of the Heart, when all things of life, purpose
and activity shall hold that deeper flow of meaning, purpose, and
grace - the true touch of spirit.
Spiritually and physically, the focal point for the greater heart
of this nation is at Uluru. A visit there is a truly magical journey
to the heart - when you take the time to absorb the resonance and
deep hum of heart in the ethers. But, like any flow of spirit, it
must also reach out in a tangible way, flowing into the world and
meaning of personal affairs, daily life, and everyday events.
Here, then, is the radiance of the heart of Canberra!
Canberra is the personal heart of our nation, while Uluru holds
the deep, spiritual heart. Canberra holds the qualities of heart,
stepped down from our nation's deva, and engaged tangibly and directly,
as possible, with the practical affairs of our nation. The great
angel over Canberra receives flow and nourishment of light from
the national deva, and flows this through the deva of Parliament
House out into our nation, seeking to inspire every heart to greater
things.
The journey of heart unfoldment is accelerating as we move more
and more into this age of the heart, and every nation that so chooses
that greater flow of heart consciousness is feeling the joy, challenge
and opportunity. Australia is one such nation, and Canberra is the
city holding its personal heart, through which that heart light
can express into every walk of life.
Many people say that the feel of Canberra has changed a lot in
the last 10 years. That it used to be a rather dry, austere place
- but now, it has much more heart. And we have barely started!
The angel of Parliament House is truly beautiful. In a walk through
Parliament House it is fascinating to see how the light shining
through this angel is seeking to manifest, inspire and engage in
the unfoldment of our nation, as more and more opportunities awaken.
Most special is the gentle heart beginning to unfold in the ethers,
beneath the flagpole and above the beautiful fountain in the heart
of that temple building. This heart is formed of the good and willing
thoughts and feelings of all people in this nation - the personal
intent.
The heart is the constant, universal spirit of good in all. Irrespective
of our personal, religious or political choices, we can all make
a difference to the unfoldment of heart in our nation. Every choice
and action we make in the light of the heart and in the radiance
of goodwill, not only manifests in the world around us, but also
gathers in this living, pulsing heart in the temple of our nation,
and strengthens its light for all. As the personal heart is strengthened,
it attracts both a greater inflow from the angels, and sends out
a greater flow to those who seek, thus nourishing the development
of even more qualities of heart in our world.
Canberra's angels, and the great national deva, can only make manifest
their light through the choices of the people and the strength of
the personal heart; everything we give to this creates greater opportunities
to receive, personally and nationally.
Living in Canberra is a wonderful grace and opportunity to participate
actively in this journey of today - the unfoldment of the heart
of our nation!
