Calling Children of the Heart
by Brenton Phillis
Growing numbers of people are aware of a deeper heart-felt connection
with all of humanity, with the livingness of Mother Earth, and with
its relationship with the Cosmos, that great being within whom we
move and have our being. More and more are born with this awareness,
while others are reaching it though their life experiences in this
time of speeded spiritual transition.
These people form a universal sister-brotherhood of the Heart
some consciously, some not yet aware. For they are responding to
the call of the Lord Maitreya [see sidebar] to walk the Way of the
Heart: to open to their Higher Self, to live by its guidance and
to work cooperatively with the unfoldment of the Divine Plan on
Earth. The deeper a person's connection with the heart, the greater
her/his feeling of love and joy as life's purpose unfolds and is
fulfilled.
This urge to live more from the inner, yet expressing it though
a conscious choice of life path of service and connectedness, is
part of the changing consciousness of the new age the age
in which the planet becomes sacred right down to the physical level.
Each and everyone of us is part of this initiatory process and may
choose how we respond to this most profound of impulses.
The Spiritual Hierarchy of Earth [see below]
has implemented a very specific plan to assist in this evolutionary
process. Through its Masters of Wisdom, their ashrams and disciples,
the Hierarchy has poured forth energies, stimulating humanity's
awareness, knowledge and spiritual growth. In this plan, the Theosophical
way of life has been made publicly available through the establishment
of specific organisations with different purposes at different levels
of consciousness.

In the initial Theosophical Impulse, the Lords Morya, Kuthumi,
Djwal Khul and other Masters worked through H. P. Blavatsky and
Henry Steel Olcott over 100 years ago, to found the Theosophical
Society in 1875. In this way, they stimulated hundreds of thousands
of people of highly developed mind to understand the scientific
principles of spiritual life on Earth. This ancient wisdom [or "theosophy"]
had been the secret teaching of temples and occult orders throughout
previous eons of human history.
The aim of this plan was to create, stimulate and progress this
universal sister- brotherhood of the Heart - which the Lord Maitreya
has called His Children of the Heart. But time was not right in
the 19th century for the sister-brotherhood the Lord Maitreya had
wanted to establish, and Blavatsky passed away before this were
possible.
Throughout the 20th century, the Theosophical Impulse flowed out
in wave upon wave of spiritual teachings through hierarchical disciples
such as Alice A. Bailey, Helena and Nicholas Roerich, Manly P. Hall,
Godfrey Ray King, Elizabeth Claire Prophet, and many more. Theosophy
influenced great men and women in all aspects of human civilisation
Mahatma Gandhi, Yeats, Joyce, T. S. Eliot, Kandinsky, Mondrian,
Klee, Gauguin, Sibelius, Scriabin, to name but a few.
In the late 20th century, there were literally thousands of books
and authors who owe their inspiration, and often their information,
to the Theosophical Impulse. Each expression of the ancient wisdom
has added certain colours and harmonies to the tapestry of human
consciousness, stimulating, enriching and developing it. In many
varied ways, the Theosophical Impulse has prepared many souls through
their incarnating personalities for the imminent planetary initiation
into greater consciousness - providing them knowledge, understanding
and different methods of spiritual purification and attainment required
to walk the lighted path.
As foretold by Blavatsky herself, the work continued 100 years
later when Ananda Tara Shan began her spiritual work this life in
Denmark in 1975. Ananda founded the Society for Maitreya Theosophy
in 1989 in Australia, and The Theosophical Fellowship in 1994; the
latter is the first exoteric organisation under the Maitreya Theosophical
Impulse, which has stimulated the work in the last quarter of the
20th century. This impulse has been instigated by the Lord Maitreya
Himself to connect willing personalities to their souls through
their hearts. From Christ Maitreya's Heart flows endless love and
joy to the Children of the Heart.
These Children of the Heart live in all countries and do not belong
to any one organisation or religion. They form the new humanity
who will one day form sufficient numbers around the world [with
Australia and the USA having the largest numbers] to enable the
rest of humanity to lift in vibration. In the not too distant future,
all of humanity inhabiting the Earth will be Children of the Heart
who will look to the Lord Maitreya as their teacher and Lord of
the World.
The Theosophical Fellowship is a sister-brotherhood for the Children
of the Heart who wish to live by the spiritual guidelines for a
Theosophical life, and for those wishing to get to know the Lord
Maitreya closely as the ever more manifesting Avatar of the Heart.
For the Lord Maitreya Himself is the inner director of the Fellowship
through the vehicle of Ananda Tara Shan.
The philosophy of the work is Maitreya Theosophy Divine
Wisdom brought to new life through the Heart of the Lord Maitreya.
The aim is to bring those who feel called into their own I Am Presence,
their Higher Self their Master within; and to bring them
ascension and knowledge of the Self. In order to liberate the human
self with love and will, they are supported by the Lord Maitreya,
the Avatar of Will, and the three departments of Shamballa, Hierarchy
and Humanity, with the Masters of Wisdom relating to these departments.
The Fellowship seeks to express a caring, liberating and practical
view of the Theosophical path, based on the Theosophical literature
and Ananda's teaching coming directly from the heart of Maitreya
through His overshadowing. It wishes to teach impartially with an
understanding of the Seven Rays and how the Seven Rays create differences
in soul and in personality.
Healing the Earth, fellow human beings and self - towards the Heart
and the Higher Self - are a major emphasis of the Fellowship's practical
work. This occurs in Healing Services, group work and one-on-one;
through meditation, invocation, decrees, singing and energy transmission.
Spiritual Festivals are celebrated throughout the year where members
come together in a joyous spirit and where the consciousness lifts
into the Heart of the Lord Maitreya.
The latest manifestation of the Maitreya Theosophical Impulse is
Heart Flow Worldwide which brings the love of Maitreya deep into
the etheric and physical levels of human consciousness. Involvement
in Heart Flow Worldwide needs only that people work out of the goodness
of their hearts. This new expression of the impulse will conduct
workshops and courses in all the sacred sciences and their practical
application in spiritual life.

Lord Maitreya and The Hierarchy
The Lord Maitreya is the Bodhisattva or Christ of Earth. He is
Head of the Spiritual Hierarchy. He is the "teacher of Angels
and of Men," representing truth and love to all people whom
He seeks to lift in consciousness along the lighted path of spiritual
evolution.
The Lord Maitreya will reincarnate in 500 years to take the Buddha
[8th great] initiation on the physical, and the 9th initiation on
the inner levels, succeeding His brother, the Lord Gautama as Buddha
of Earth. He will also become Lord of the World, though only for
a shorter time, as the Lord Sanat Kumara and the Lord Gautama Buddha
will leave Earth, going to higher evolutionary work.
The Spiritual Hierarchy consists of many Masters of Wisdom who
have travelled the path of human incarnation and initiation, reaching
the stage where they incarnate only by choice, while assisting the
unfoldment of the Divine Plan in its many and varied aspects from
their ashrams on the inner
